John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917, to Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy of Brookline, Massachusetts. John Edward Clark was born August 13, 1905, in Atchison, Kansas. He received his commission as ensign in the U.S. Navy in June 1927, and achieved the rank of rear admiral in August 1955.
